The idea for the name of the honey and website is a tribute to my brother Ron who passed in 2025.
For so many years, Ron frequently told me in many different conversations whether it was during tough times or something much simpler that “It’s going to be okay” or “ It’s going to be alright” and the very first time that he had said this to me, he asked “do you know why?” I asked “Why?” His answer was “because it has to be.“ Going forward, to many of our conversations, he would say again, “It’s going to be alright” and then I would reply, finishing the thought “because it has to be.” He’d say “That is correct.”
Those optimistic words and my love for bees has inspired the name Has To Bee Honey.
Thyme For Bees came from my passion for herbs and my love of bees. My brother Phil’s grandmother used to grow lots of thyme in her garden and honeybees loved it! I love that she grew thyme, too. I have been growing it for years, as it’s one of my favorite herbs.
Ron used to encourage me (though he thought I was crazy with some of my ideas) with my pursuits to learn new things, and when some of those ideas and hobbies were short-lived, he would say “what’s next sis?”
I’ve always had a passion and appreciation for medicinal herbs and continue to study herbs.. Being outdoors, tending to the garden, while watching honey bees and bumble bees pollinate is very peaceful. I adore bees and have always wanted to try beekeeping.
Now, I wish that I could tell him that “It’s time for bees Ron!” It’s Thyme For Bees. I can only imagine his response to this but he would be curious to see how it goes.
